Concrete cutting Chicago means Cobra Concrete Cutting Services. We recently celebrated fifteen years in the concrete cutting and sawing industry, and we are leaders in this business.
While we concentrate largely on Chicagoland and the tri-State area, we are capable of providing our services nationwide for large projects.
Safety is a major concern in the concrete cutting industry, and Cobra’s safety record is excellent. The Association of Subcontractors and Affiliates (ASA Chicago) has awarded Cobra with their Annual Safety Award as well as their 2014 Subcontractor of the Year Award. We are also associated with the Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association (CSDA), an organization that actively promotes the highest standards of safety and quality among its members.
Cobra excels at providing innovation and excellent service to its customers. Because of our attention to detail, we have continued to grow quickly. Inc. Magazine rated Cobra number 42 in the category of Fastest Growing Construction Companies in the Country and number 28 in the Fastest Growing Companies in the tri-State area (Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana) category. The long list of companies and organizations we have successfully worked with is the reason for this growth.
Cobra carries Level 2 certification from the Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association (CSDA). According to the CSDA website :
Companies that achieve a Level 2 certification have shown that they follow generally accepted business practices based on the internationally recognized ISO processes. Level 2 companies have implemented effective business systems to operate more effectively on a daily basis which can lead to cost savings and improved customer satisfaction. Level 2 companies will meet the requirements for most heavy industrial jobs.
CSDA featured a large project that Cobra Concrete Cutting Services worked on in their publication, Concrete Openings. Renovating the Doane Observatory at Chicago’s Adler Planetarium entailed cutting several window and door openings in the observatory’s 14-inch-thick concrete walls. Workers also removed a section of internal wall that partitioned off the hollow interior of the building. This hollow area was “essentially a 20-foot-tall enclosed foundation wall/footing for the telescope on the upper level”, according to Cobra president Dan Foley. The work required a great deal of precision and care because it was of the utmost importance that the telescope, housed above, not be disturbed.
Cobra recognizes the importance of communicating with the contractors they work with, and our representatives attend many industry meetings and conventions where they can talk directly with clients. We have recently attended events such as the ASA Chicago Construction Expo, Illinois Association of Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors Expo, and ASA Chicago Meet the GCs.
All of the certifications, awards, and expos demonstrate Cobra’s commitment to our mission: “To revolutionize the concrete sawing and drilling industry through our innovation and attitude, and provide a level of service and passion that our customers, our employees and our community desire to experience.”
Cobra has worked on projects in a wide variety of public and private sectors, including restaurants, arenas, landmarks, hotels, condominiums, hospitals, and schools. Contact us to discuss ways we can put our commitment to innovation, safety, and community to work on your next project.
